JoyFindr is a personal life-intelligence app that helps you understand your own patterns and align your choices with what matters to you. Your trust is the whole product. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have.
The short version
- We collect only what the app needs to work for you. We never sell your data, never share it for advertising, and never show your information to other users.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we run no advertising. If we ever offer optional connections to other apps or device data — for example, health or mindfulness information — they will be off until you choose to turn them on, and used only to serve you.
- Your reflections, values, intentions, and JoySherpa conversations are yours. You can export everything you’ve created or delete your account and all its data at any time, from inside the app (Settings → Your data).
What we collect
- Account & identity. Depending on how you sign in: your email address, phone number, or an Apple/Google sign-in identifier. If you sign in with Apple’s private relay, we only receive the relay address. A display name is optional — you may use JoyFindr anonymously, and we honor that.
- What you create in the app. Your responses to discovery sessions, your values, reflections, intentions and their history, goals and objectives, check-ins, and any conversations with your JoySherpa (including thoughts you choose to keep).
- Calendar events (only if you turn it on). If you enable the calendar option, the app reads today’s events from your device to show them alongside your intentions. This is read-only — JoyFindr never changes your calendar — and it happens on your device.
- Voice input (only if you use it). Two paths, your choice. If you use JoyFindr’s in-app voice option, your audio is sent for transcription and only the resulting text is saved with your responses — we do not keep the audio. If you use your phone’s built-in keyboard dictation instead, that transcription is handled by your device’s own dictation feature — JoyFindr never receives the audio, only the text you dictate.
- Basic operational data. App-open events and similar minimal signals needed to make the experience work. We do not collect advertising identifiers.
How we use it
Solely to provide JoyFindr to you: to synthesize your values, reflect your patterns back to you, power your JoySherpa, and keep your history. We do not use your content to build and sell any advertising profiles.
Service providers (subprocessors)
We use a small number of providers strictly to run the app:
- Supabase — secure database, authentication, and hosting. Your data is protected by row-level security so each account can only reach its own data.
- Anthropic (Claude) — powers your JoySherpa and values synthesis. Your relevant content is sent to generate responses.
- OpenAI (Whisper) — transcribes voice input to text, only when you use voice.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms; we do not authorize them to use your content for their own purposes such as advertising.
AI and clinical framing
Your JoySherpa is designed to support reflection and awareness. It is not a medical or mental-health service and does not provide diagnosis or treatment. Nothing in JoyFindr is a substitute for professional care.
Your choices and rights
- Export. Settings → Your data → Export my data gives you a readable copy of everything you’ve created in JoyFindr.
- Delete. Settings → Your data → Delete my account permanently erases your account and all associated data. This is immediate and irreversible.
- Anonymity. You may use a display name or stay anonymous.
- Permissions. Calendar, microphone, and notifications are off until you enable them, and you can turn them off in iOS Settings at any time.
Data retention & security
We retain your data until you delete it. Deleting your account removes your records across our systems. We protect data with authentication, row-level security, and encryption in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but protecting your data is central to how JoyFindr is built.
Children
JoyFindr is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We will post changes here and update the effective date. Material changes will be surfaced in the app.

This website
The policy above covers the JoyFindr app. The joyfindr.com website itself collects very little:
Site analytics. We use Plausible Analytics to understand which pages are visited and how people find us. Plausible does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track you across other sites. The data is aggregated and used to improve the site.
The contact form. When you fill out the contact form, your name, email, and message are sent to us via Netlify Forms. We use this information solely to respond to you. We do not share it with third parties. We do not add you to a marketing list without your explicit request.
Email. If you email us at hello@joyfindr.com, your message is stored in our normal email system and used only to respond to you.
We do not use third-party advertising trackers, Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or tracking cookies on this site, and we do not sell, rent, or trade your information. If you have ever contacted us through the site and would like us to delete or share what we have on file, write to hello@joyfindr.com and we will.
